During spring, life begins to return to North Wales and with it comes the tourists!
Winter is still a popular time for North Wales, with sporting events and epic ice trails (like the York Ice Trail) being held throughout the UK, but it’s not until the warmer months of the year that its possible for major events to start taking place outside. During spring the average temperature in North Wales creeps up by the few degrees necessary to make it comfortable for families to visit without freezing themselves half to death. Event organisers respond in kind by pulling together some fantastic activities for people of all ages and we’ve collected a few of them together in this list here:
Snowdon 500 Challenge – 18th May 2019
This charitable event was set up 10 years ago my Matt Rannamets after he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He envisioned an event which would bring together 500 people, each of whom would raise £250 for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre before climbing up Snowdown together. The event is one of the most popular of its kinds and has raised over a million pounds for the cause since its incarnation. The event starts at finishes at The Royal Victoria Hotel and is open to applicants of all ages.
ZipRoc 2019 – 15th June 2019
Although only in its second year, ZipRoc is already shaping up to be one of the area’s biggest music events. Set up by musician Mike Peters (of The Alarm) in aid of the Live Hope Strength Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting cancer projects, this year’s festival will bring together 90s Britpop icons Cast, Miles Hunt (The Wonder Stuff) and Elin Fflur.
