Old Mill (C18th Listed Mill)
Eglwys Bach
Snowdonia Mountains and Coast
price from £566.00 per unit per week (Self-Catering)
Accommodation Description
This property sleeps up to 9 people in 4 double bedrooms & 1 single bed.
A fabulous conversion of a C18th grade two listed stone mill in the Conwy valley, which has retained many of its working parts and has been renovated to the highest standard. A beamed spilt level kitchen/diner on the ground (slate) floor is spacious and allows sight of the inner works of the water wheel, through a sealed glass partition. As the slate floor is original, it is by its nature slightly uneven. Angled stairs lead to the first floor lounge. This impressive first floor lounge has a log burning stove, and incorporates the original grinding stone and grain sorting cupboards, dated 1795 along with other antique artefacts. A downstairs WC accessed by a small hallway also allows ample storage for coats and footwear is also on this floor. Additionally we understand the only remaining grain grinding machine left in North Wales can be seen in this section of the building which in the 1900's replaced the main parts of the old mill.
Stairs lead to the second floor, and three double bedrooms, where again preserved grain hoppers have been incorporated into the building and are a unique feature. The master bedroom is spacious with a double bed a seating area, and en suite facilities comprising a shower basin and WC; bedroom 2 is smaller with double facilities and directly opposite, the upstairs bathroom comprising a bath, separate shower WC and basin; bedroom 3 has twin facilities and an en suite comprising WC and basin.
A further double bedroom with beamed ceilings and access to its own bathroom with ensuite/shower completed the spacious accommodation.
Many walls throughout the mill are left in their original form as a dark natural stone, lighting is however adequate, doors are pine with pine frames. A large TV and DVD player is available on this floor, together with a payphone and wi-fi broadband access. Gas central heating is throughout the building.
Additional facilities: W/machine, t/dryer, d/washer, microwave, freezer, TV, DVD player, CD/radio, games, broadband access, gas central heating, payphone, grounds to sit out in, and barbeque facilities.
1 mile from local village shop and pub, fantastic views and walks from the door, 7 miles to Conwy and Llanrwst, 2 miles form Bodnant Gardens. Logs supplied, Electricity by meter reading.
Not suitable to wheelchair users or young children due to uneven flooring.-
